Ik heb nooit van de \"giftige mensen\" bijnaam gehouden. Het lijkt een beetje oneerlijk tegenover deze mensen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

En dan, krijg je de discussie, \"is deze persoon echt giftig of niet?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ik denk dat de discussie moet worden verlegd, en dat de definitie de onze moet worden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Net zoals verschillende mensen verschillende niveaus van gif verdragen, en sommige mensen allergisch zijn voor volkomen \"normale\" voedingsmiddelen die anderen consumeren en zelfs lekker vinden.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ik denk dat we \"giftige mensen\" moeten defini\u00ebren als \"mensen die consequent onze eigen, legitieme, behoeften schaden\"<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bijvoorbeeld - als je erg gevoelig bent voor kritiek, en je partner gebruikt veel sarcasme en persoonlijke aanvallen - dan zijn ze giftig voor je. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voor veel andere mensen kunnen ze echter niet giftig zijn. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sommige mensen zullen het sarcasme zelfs als geestig ervaren! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uiteindelijk gaat het er alleen maar om dat wij ons omringen met mensen van wie wij het gezelschap echt prettig vinden en die onze behoeften en grenzen respecteren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Omdat wij hun respecteren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En een laatste gedachte: we kunnen op onze beurt giftig zijn voor sommige andere mensen. Soms is dit onvermijdelijk - bv. als intimiteit giftig is voor de andere persoon, en wij van nature intimiteit willen in een romantische relatie. (NB: de intimiteit is giftig voor de ander omdat hij of zij in het verleden ervaringen heeft gehad waarbij intimiteit geassocieerd werd met giftigheid, bijv. overcontrolerende partners, en anderszins mishandelende partners ... )<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
