Ze zijn niet goed in empathie of andere menselijke vaardigheden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dit komt omdat ze een heel leven aan menselijke emotionele ervaringen missen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ja, deze menselijke ervaringen worden weerspiegeld in onze liederen, onze gedichten, onze artistieke beelden. Maar dit alles is een reflectie, een schaduw van de werkelijke emotionele ervaring. En emoties zijn wat ons allemaal voortdrijft, wat ons uiteindelijk maakt tot de mensen die we zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In wezen zal AI, zolang het geen manier heeft om deze menselijke emoties te voelen en het echte leven te ervaren, ons altijd de schaduw, de weerspiegeling, de smaakloze koffie geven die een tweede of derde keer is opgewarmd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AI is niet de enige entiteit die niet verbonden is met echte menselijke ervaringen. Wij mensen zijn op veel manieren niet verbonden met andere menselijke ervaringen. Een bevoorrechte blanke man uit een middenklasse gezin in de VS zal bijvoorbeeld niet kunnen voelen hoe het voelt om een vrouw te zijn in een oorlogsgebied in het Midden-Oosten. Bijvoorbeeld in Palestina. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Natuurlijk zal hij zich kunnen inleven en proberen te putten uit zijn ergste ervaringen, en natuurlijk zal hij diepe angst voelen en ook een beetje angst, alleen al door naar de foto's te kijken. Maar uiteindelijk heeft hij niet dezelfde ervaring, hetzelfde leven als deze vrouw. En dat zal ook nooit gebeuren. We kunnen ons alleen ten diepste verhouden tot ervaringen die echt heel erg op onze eigen ervaringen lijken, alleen dit zijn de ervaringen die we op een visceraal niveau kunnen begrijpen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daarom moet het onvermogen van AI om zich te verhouden tot onze menselijke ervaringen, misschien zelfs de waargenomen kilte van AI, dienen als een herinnering voor ons, dat we zelf niet in staat zijn om ons te verhouden tot andere menselijke ervaringen.
